The Tánczos Pince Olaszrizling (welschriesling) Hegybor (2023) is a true reflection of the Tagyon-hegy's terroir, with its rich and expressive character. While still young, this wine is already quite lovable, offering delicate aromas of elderflower and almond, which are characteristic of the Welschriesling variety. The wine’s spontaneous fermentation and long lees aging give it a beautiful depth and complexity, while maintaining its freshness and vibrancy. The flavors are crisp and mineral, with a smooth, balanced finish that makes it incredibly easy to enjoy.

Why is it called Hegybor?

Hegybor is the "sibling" of the well-known BalatonBor. It’s a more complex wine, representing a higher quality. Like BalatonBor, Hegybor is also made from olaszrizling (welschriesling), offering a rich and flavorful taste of the Balaton region. It’s a joint creation of the Balatoni Kör and the Rizling Generáció. Any winery that meets the requirements can produce it—just like Tánczos Pince did, resulting in this fantastic wine!

Made with spontaneous fermentation, the Tánczos Pince Welschriesling Hegybor 2023 underwent extended aging on fine lees, which imparted a subtle creaminess and depth to the wine. It’s a classic example of the Welschriesling grape, capturing the essence of the Tagyon-hegy with its bright acidity and signature floral and nutty notes. While this wine is still in its youth, it already offers a delightful experience that reflects the careful, hands-on winemaking approach of Zoltán Tánczos.
