Sauska Cuvée 7 Villány 2020 is the benchmark premium red wine of the Sauska estate — a powerful yet refined Hungarian red blend that embodies the depth and structure of the Villány region. The vintage expresses Villány’s full-bodied, sun-kissed character through layers of dark fruit, graphite, cedar, and subtle spice, woven together in a seamless balance. Villány, the heartland of Hungarian Cabernet Franc, is renowned for its warm climate and limestone-rich soils that produce wines of impressive concentration, ripe tannins, and longevity. Cuvée 7 Villány captures this boldness with polished structure and opulent texture — a fine red wine that remains poised and elegant, the quintessential expression of Villány’s terroir: confident, generous, and age-worthy.

How It Differs from Sauska – Cuvée 7 Siklós

Compared to its sibling from Siklós, Cuvée 7 Villány is more powerful and structured, with denser tannins, darker fruit, and a touch more oak influence. It represents the muscular, classic face of southern Hungarian premium wines, designed to evolve beautifully with age.

A Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, sourced from Sauska’s top vineyards in Villány. After careful hand-harvesting and selection, each variety was vinified separately in stainless steel to preserve fruit purity, then aged 16 months in French and Hungarian oak barrels (40% new).

The result is a full-bodied, oak-aged Hungarian red wine with depth, structure, and long aromatic persistence — the hallmark of Villány’s limestone slopes and mature vines.
