The Yealands Single Block Sauvignon Blanc S1 is an outstanding New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, sourced from the renowned Seaview Vineyard, specifically from the S1 parcel. The “single block” designation has a precise meaning here: the wine is made exclusively from fruit grown in the S1 block of Seaview Vineyard, offering a pure and focused expression of this unique site. This sun-soaked vineyard is constantly influenced by cool, saline coastal breezes due to its proximity to the ocean, moderating the warmer daytime temperatures and allowing for a slower, more even ripening process.

Thanks to this distinctive microclimate, the Yealands Single Block Sauvignon Blanc S1 shows a richer, more ripe aromatic profile within the classic Marlborough style. Alongside vibrant citrus notes, ripe nectarine and tropical fruit characters take center stage on both the nose and palate, supported by a subtle mineral edge. The palate is fuller and rounder in texture, yet remains beautifully balanced by lively, mouth-watering acidity preserved by the cooling maritime influence of Seaview Vineyard. The result is a harmonious yet vibrant Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc that combines generosity with precision.

The grapes are harvested in the cool early morning hours to preserve freshness and aromatics. Gentle pressing is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled low temperatures.

A portion of the wine is aged briefly on fine lees, adding texture and depth while maintaining the purity of fruit and mineral character. No oak is used, ensuring that both the varietal and terroir-driven expression remain in clear focus.

Grilled green asparagus with lemon and parmesan – the wine’s bright acidity and green notes enhance the freshness of the asparagus.

Fresh goat cheese salad with arugula – the crisp acidity beautifully balances the creaminess of the cheese.

Sushi and sashimi selection – the clean acidity and mineral profile complement delicate raw fish.

Garlic and lemon shrimp – the citrus and fruit notes mirror and elevate the flavors of the dish.

Herb-marinated grilled chicken – the wine’s fruit and acidity lift and refresh the herbal seasoning.
